Smuttynose - Big A IPA 5.5 (10 oz)

You might remember Smuttynose's Finest Kind IPA we had on back in October when they first started distributing in Texas. The Big A IPA is their double IPA which is part of their seasonal & rotating series. The ABV is up there so it will be served in a tulip. This will also really retain those hoppy/malty aromatics.

Brewers Description:For our hopping regime we went with Cascade and Nuggets in the boiling addition. Centennials were added every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes of the boil. We added Crystals into the whirlpool. Dry hopping was done in both the fermentor after primary fermentation and the bright tank. We used a mixture of Chinook, Nuggets, and Sterlings in the fermentors and whole leaf Centennials in the bright tank.

Style: Double IPA

ABV: 9.5%

Review: Hazy yellow orange pour with a nice white head. Sticky lacing. Aroma is juicy citrus, orange candy, resin, and caramel. Taste is citrus rind, pine, caramel, and lightly earthy. Nicely balanced. Medium full body. Really easy drinking. Good beer
