Austin Beerworks - Lotion in the basket (6/22)

Breweries have seemed to been on a trend lately.
Step 1. Create a great beer.
Step 2. Give it an absurd name.
Step 3. Profit

Austin Beerworks is no exception with their latest fermented offering. They excelled at step one, taking their bright, crisp pearl snap pilsner and dry hopping it with an abundance of Mosaic hops. This resulted in an easy to drink dry lager with a giant bouquet of citrus and grapefruit. Then they went and named it... Lotion In the Basket, a home run for step two. Seeing as we have it on tap, step three appears to be a success as well. This beer is crisp and refreshing with enough citrus hop aroma to satiate IPA fans as well.

Style: Dry Hopped Pilsner

ABV: 5.3%

Review: Medium gold with a light, creamy head. Nose is clean and fragrant with a floral and dry citrus hop note. Crisp on the tongue, with dry, grapefruit hops kicking in on the mid-palate. Finish is a little short. Good, and an interesting variation on the base beer.
