Oltrepò Pavese, Italy
bright, floral, persistant
Oltrepo Pavese DOC (meaning Pavia across the Po) this is perhaps the most traditional wine zone in Italy’s northernmost region, Lombardy. It is located in close proximity to Milan, and borders the regions Emilia-Romagna and Piedmont. This area is considered the Pinot Noir capital of Italy.
Pinot Nero, most commonly known to us as Pinot Noir is vinified into a white wine. To make a white pinot nero, a winemaker will immediately remove the grape juice from the skins so that the pigment, which is contained in the skins, does not color the wine.
Straw-yellow with bright highlights. Subtle, delicate, flowery and fruity bouquet. The taste is fresh and elegant, with an aromatic aftertaste. Perhaps some herbal notes. This is a great wine for someone looking for a light and refreshing option.
