'11 Domaine de Majas Vin de Pays Cotes Catalanes Rouge 10/40
Cotes Catalanes, France
fresh blackberry, cherry, bright
Cotes Catalanes is an appellation within the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region in France. This region is so far south in France it is almost in Spain.
Technical notes: This wine is 100% Organic. It is hand harvested using only natural yeasts, no excessive use of sulphur and no oak. The wine is fermented in concrete tanks.
Varietals: 50% Carignan and 50% Grenache Noir
A brilliant ruby color with fresh blackberries and cherries on the nose. Walker and I both got a bit of gamey qualities as well.
On the palate, this wine has intense black fruit concentration, astonishing minerality, and tannins that just melt in your mouth. Long finish.
