Adelbert's Philosophizer 4.5 (10 oz.)

Description: This smooth ale tastes citrusy with yeasty notes and a hint of peppery spice. Its dry finish and mild carbonation make it perfect for pairing with grilled chicken, rich fish dishes, and cheeses like camembert and brie.

The Story: (Adelbert's beers are brewed in celebration and remembrance of the owners brother "Del", many of the beers have a related story behind them.)

- Philosophizer was a common term used to describe Del. He often came up with the perfect solution to a complex problem while drinking a beer and watching the sunset. Don’t be surprised when you enter into deep philosophical debates after opening a Philosophizer. Just pop one open, pour, sip, and ponder.

-Gold Medal Saison from Best of Craft Beer Awards

Review: Pours out a nice dark golden color, the body is slightly hazy and the head, thick and frothy, is white and is at least three fingers thick. It also creates a thick lacing around the ale. The aroma is light, but you can pick up some floral notes mixed in with plenty of citrus fruits, apples and berries. Is a semi-dry ale with some mild phenol flavors and a hint of lemon zest, it’s a little spicy as heads towards the back of your mouth and is mildly tart over all. The mouthfeel is light-to-medium and goes down well, the aftertaste is sweet and only a hint of alcohol is present. Overall, this is a really good saison.

ABV: 7.8%
