Description: Einhorn is a Berliner Weisse beer, which Austin Beerworks has paid commendable homage to as a maker of traditional German styles. Berliner Weisse is a style that dates back five centuries, nearly becoming obsolete altogether, before a handful of American breweries took upon a self-imposed challenge to recreate a refreshing, low-alcohol, sour ale that resembled the flavor profile of tart lemonade.
Review: This beer is slightly out of style for a traditional berliner in which has the grainy/cereal'y after taste as this finishes clean and is a great tasting light sour beer.
Straw color with a nice white head on it. The nose is fruity, acidic with some grassy notes.
Mit Schuss: Berliner Weisse is typically served in a bowl-shaped glass with flavoured syrups, such as raspberry (Himbeersirup), or artificial woodruff flavouring (Waldmeistersirup). We do it a little different buy offering a half ounce of creme de cassis for $1.
ABV: 3.5%
