'12 Francois Cazin "Le Petit Chambord" 11/44

'12 Francois Cazin "Le Petit Chambord" 11/44
Cheverny, France
deep, citrus, unfiltered

This wine is from the hamlet of Le Petit Chambord, which is in Cheverny in central France, part of the Loire Valley region. There's a variety of excellent Sauvignon Blanc produced here, and this wine is 70% Sauvignon and 30% Chardonnay. It's aromatic, with rich floral and citrus aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with fresh citrus fruit and minerality. It's mouthwatering well into the finish, which shows some bitter, orange zest kinds of flavors.

Like the Corsini Barbera we served, this wine is unfiltered, and may have some sediment in the bottle. Handle it gently at the table, pouring for the guest whenever possible, and keep an eye on the neck of the bottle when you're pouring the last of it.
