Real Ale (Brewers Cut) - California Common - 5/18

Description: A "HYBRID" STYLE, CALIFORNIA COMMON OR "STEAM" BEER is a lager beer fermented at warmer ale temperatures. This style originated on the West coast at the turn of the 20th century when breweries were unable to cool and ferment their lagers in the ordinary lager temperature range. Our "steam" beer is medium- bodied, dry, and refreshing characterized by toffee notes balanced by a subtle citrus hop character.

Review: The aroma of honey with notes of biscuit drift up from an hazy amber pour supporting a short-lived white head and minimal lacing. The tongue supports the nose - honey, biscuit, and grain. These tastes prevail into the finish and aftertaste. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Overall, I enjoyed this beer. Nice juxtaposition of honey and hops.

ABV: 5.9%
