Anchor - Mango Wheat

Anchor is a, perhaps, the pioneer in the craft brewing game. Their roots go all the way back to the Gold Rush and they've been doing business as Anchor Brewing since 1896 (Anchor also makes Junipero gin, another offering from the Contigo bar).

This is an ale made with sun-ripened mangoes. Though native to south Asia, Californians have enjoyed fresh mangoes since the 1850's. Anchor's Mango Wheat is crisply a refreshing, effervescent, golden ale that highlights the delectable character of this singular fruit. Brightness without sharpness, fullness of flavor without heaviness, tropical aroma without pungency, and complexity without cacophony. This brew pours marigold yellow, slightly hazy with a white wheaty head. The aromas are fruity, ripe mangoes with hints of apricot and peach with a taste slightly sweet from mangoes with a hint of citrus tartness. It has a light and easy drinking mouthfeel and finishes crisp and clean with no lingering sweetness.

ABV: 4.5%
