Penicillin (scotch, lemon, sugar).....9

A rendition of a classic, this cocktail features both Islay and blended scotch. 1.5 oz of Famous Grouse blended scotch is shaken with lemon juice and simple syrup. The cocktail is then strained over new ice in a rocks glass and floated with a bar spoon of Laphroaig islay scotch. The cocktail is dressed with an orange slice and contrary to the picture, is not served with a stirrer.

The reason the stirrer straw was omitted is to allow the peat aroma from the laphroaig to be a noticeable compliment to the drink.
